SAFTI FIRST SuperLite I-XL IGU (Insulated Glass Unit) 20-60 Min Without Hose Company: SAFTI FIRST

Superlite I-XL IGU is an insulated glass unit for use in fire doors, fire windows, door side lights and transoms. The product may optionally include a proprietary coating applied to the side of the glazing facing the air space.

Ratings for the product are shown in the table below.

The product meets the requirement for a 20-minute rating in accordance with UL 10C (2016), UL 10B (2015) and NFPA 252 (2017) when used in fire door applications and with NFPA 257 (2017) and UL 9 (2009) when used in window applications.

The product meets the 45- and 60-minute requirements for fire endurance in the above-noted standards but was not tested for hose stream. Some jurisdictions have permitted the use of these products for specific applications – authorization from the Authority Having Jurisdiction is necessary when the product is installed in locations requiring a 45- or 60-minute fire-resistance rating.

Limitations
- The  SuperLite I-XL IGU panels have not been tested for Hose Stream requirements. Use in locations required to have a 45 or 60 minute rating must be approved by the Authority Having Jurisdiction. Must be rated assemblies (i.e. listed and labeled steel lite kit, listed and labeled steel framing system, etc.)
- The I-XL IGU product is non-directional as the Proprietary coating faces the air space.
- For use in listed and labeled steel lite kits.
Allowances
 Pattern cuts may be used.

Manufacturer's Instructions
Listed maximum sizes of glazing are based on sizes tested; local codes may be more restrictive. The AHJ must be consulted to ensure code requirements are satisfied. Depending on the end use installation, local codes may require that additional criteria be met to address considerations such as radiant heat hazards and impact safety. Under such circumstances, the prior approval of the Authority Having Jurisdiction must be obtained unless conformance to relevant additional requirements is indicated within the individual listing. Clearance between the edges if the glazing and the inside edge of the frame shall not exceed 1/8" unless otherwise noted in the individual listing or the manufacturer's installation instructions.
Labeling:
All glazing is identified by an etched mark or label bearing the ETL Certification Mark.

Labeling guidelines for glazing in the IBC and NFPA 80 require that glazing meet the hose stream requirements of the above referenced standards and to include the designations 'H' (for door applications) or 'OH' for window applications.  Since this product does not meet the hose stream requirements of the above referenced test standards, the label/etch does not contain the 'H' or 'OH' designators.

The Intertek etch on this product will contain the standards referenced above, as well as the designators 'D' (for door applications), and a number indicating the fire endurance rating (i.e. 45).
