Single hollow metal doors using vertical rod exit device must use a heat activated locking pin 12” from the floor in the lead edge of the door.
Doors using Model 3900 CVR-TRO must be provided with heat activated locking pins as follows: (A) In the lower side of the door at the latch corner for ALL single doors (45, 60 & 90 minute rated) and for standard & double egress pairs (45 minute rated) and (B) In the bottom of the door at the bottom latch corner on both leaves for standard & double egress pairs (60 & 90 minute rated). Exception: No pins required in 20 minute without hose stream.
Doors using Model 3900 CVR-TRO must have stiles made from Georgia Pacific Firestop material or Warm Springs Tectonite in accordance with their respective procedures.
3644 & 3645 Lever X Lever Set (Top Latch only) for use in (standard or double egress pairs only) Steel Doors for up to 3 hour locations.
Doors using Models 3940 series & 3976 series CVR-TRO must be provided with heat activated locking pins as follows: (A) In the lower side of the door at the latch corner for 45 minute rated single and standard & double egress pairs door configurations and (B) In the bottom of the door at the bottom latch corner for 60 & 90 minute rated single and standard & double egress pairs door configurations. Exception: No pins required in 20 minute with & without hose stream. The 3976 in 45-90 minute applications requires special midrail construction contact Adams Rite for details.

Limitations:

Steel door installed in 16 gauge or heavier steel frames.
