This product is a 1/2" thick, 8.0 pcf refractory ceramic fiber blanket encapsulated on all sides with a polypropylene/foil scrim. This blanket is used as a flexible enclosure to protect plastic pipe and electrical cables from surface flame spread in return-air plenums. The blanket is wrapped around 1-in. dia. Or larger pipe conduits of various composition including polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polybutylene (PB), polyethylene (PE) polypropylene (PP) and polyvinylidene floride (PVDF). Additionally, copper cables insulated with any of the previously mentioned materials may be protected.
