For use in listed fire rated steel stud or wood stud drywall applications or in listed fire rated masonry wall applications. For drywall wall applications, steel studs shall have a minimum thickness of 18 gauge, and double studs are required to be nested around the rough opening with cross bracing to the next stud at four locations to line up with the frame anchors.
The door and frame assembly noted above was tested in conjunction to test method UL 1784, "Standard for Air Leakage Tests of Door Assemblies." For the air leakage compliance noted below, the assembly must have a fire rated surface applied or concealed W60 door sweep applied to the bottom of the door and a fire rated air foil W-12 seal applied to the stop of the frame head. W-12 air foil seals are also factory applied to the inside of the door's locking channel.
