Malarkey - Polymer Modified Asphalt Shingles Company: Malarkey Roofing Products

The Alaskan is a self-sealing shingle consisting of polymer modified bitumen and fillers applied onto a fiber glass mat with surfacing granules. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 39-3/8" (337 mm x 1001 mm).

Legacy and Legacy Scotchgard are self-sealing shingles consisting of polymer modified bitumen and fillers applied onto a fiber glass mat with surfacing granules. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 40" (337 mm x 1016 mm).

Ecoasis Premium is a self-sealing shingle consisting of polymer modified bitumen and fillers applied onto a fiber glass mat with surfacing granules which includes the use of ‘IR’ cool granules for reflectance. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 40" (337 mm x 1016 mm).

Windsor and Windsor Starter are mineral-surfaced, self-sealing shingles consisting of SBS rubber modified asphalt coating on fiberglass reinforcement. The Windsor shingle has approximate dimensions of 19-1/4" x 38-1/4" (488 mm x 972 mm). Windsor Starter has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 38-1/4" (337 mm x 972 mm).

10 and 12 inch RidgeFlex are self-sealing, hip and ridge shingles consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The 10 and 12 inch RidgeFlex Strips are perforated every 9-7/8" (251 mm) and 12" (305 mm) respectively, to separate each shingle into individual sections.

Windsor™ Ecoasis Scotchgard shingle is a self-sealing shingle consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The surface of the shingle is embedded with ceramic granules that have Scotchgard algae resistance. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 19-1/4" by x 38-1/4" (488mm x 972mm).
 
Legacy™ XL Scotchgard is a self-sealing shingle consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The underside of the shingle is surfaced embedded with headlap granules. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" by x 40" (377mm x 1016mm).

Vista and Vista AR are self-sealing shingles consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The shingles have approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 39" (337 mm x 991 mm).

DuraSeal is a self-sealing shingle consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4” x 39-3/8” (337 mm x 1001 mm).

Highlander NEX and Highlander NEX AR are self-sealing shingles consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The shingles have approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 39" (337 mm x 991 mm).

Ecoasis NEX is a self-sealing shingle consisting of polymer modified bitumen and mineral stabilizers applied to a fiberglass mat with surfacing granules. The shingle has approximate dimensions of 13-1/4" x 39" (337 mm x 991 mm).

Smart Start™ is a starter shingle consisting of fiberglass mat with SBS modified asphalt compounded with mineral stabilizer embedded on both sides. The exposure side of the shingle is also embedded with granules.The starter shingle has approximate dimensions of 16-3/8" x 38-1/4" (416 mm x 972 mm).

5. Eave Detail: Smart Start shingle starter course set in ASTM D4586 roof cement and secured using minimum 12 ga, 1-1/4 in. ring shank nails at four per starter located 1 in. and 12 in. from starter sides and 3 in. from eave edge
6. Ridge Shingle: 10 in. or 12 in. RidgeFlex secured using minimum 12 ga, 1-14 in. ring shank nails at two per shingle located 1 in. from shingle ends and 6-5/8 in. from shingle butt


ASTM D3161 Wind Ratings:
The polymer modified shingles of this report have met requirements for a Class F rating at a test velocity of 110 mph (177km/h) per ASTM D3161.

UL 2218 Impact Ratings:
Alaskan, Legacy, Legacy Scotchgard, Ecoasis Premium, Windsor, Windsor Starter, 10 and 12 inch RidgeFlex, Windsor™ Ecoasis Scotchgard, Legacy™ XL Scotchgard, and DuraSeal have met requirements for a Class 4 impact rating per UL 2218.
Highlander NEX, Highlander NEX AR, Vista, Vista AR, and Ecoasis NEX has met requirements for a Class 3 impact rating per UL 2218.

ASTM D7158 Wind Speed Ratings:
The polymer modified shingles have met a Class H rating for basic wind speeds up to and including 190 mph (306 km/h)  per ASTM D7158.

CSA A123.1/A123.5 Wind Speed Ratings:
Legacy, Legacy Scotchgard, Ecoasis Premium, Alaskan, Windsor, Windsor Starter shingles, Legacy XL Scotchgard, Windsor Ecoasis Scotchgard, Highlander NEX, Highlander NEX AR, 10 and 12 inch RidgeFlex have passed the test requirements of CSA A123.1/A123.5.
