ProSet Firestop Systems have been evaluated to the following standards:
-
ASTM E814, Fire Tests of Through-Penetration Firestops
Test Pressure Differential - Each listing indicates a "Test Pressure Differential" which is the amount by which the pressure on the fire exposed side of the system exceeded the pressure on the unexposed side during test.
Annular Spacing - Where annular spacing is specified in these listings for through-penetration type systems it refers to the clearance between the penetration and the opening. Where a specific distance is stated and not identified as "minimum", the penetration is centered in the opening; where a distance is specified as "minimum", the maximum spacing is governed by the maximum opening size; where a range is stated, the penetration may be offset in the opening within the clearance limitations of the spacing range given.
These systems are intended for use in the types of separations for which they are qualified in the listed design. The separations themselves should be rated for the period required per ASTM-E119 or equivalent.
Systems are installed, unless otherwise noted, in accordance with the Manufacturer's Installation Instructions or Design Manual.
Penetrating items must be supported as required by applicable codes on both sides of the fire barrier. Listed Firestop systems that include support for the penetrating item indicate the supporting element in the listing. Such items are not evaluated for their load carrying capacity during the fire resistance test.
All listed components are identified with the WHI Certification Mark.
Manufacturers of listed components subscribe to an Intertek follow-up factory inspection and certification program.
