Master Builders Solutions US LLC EIFS systems are installed over code-compliant exterior walls as insulating air and weather barriers. The EIFS assemblies consist of an air/water barrier, adhesive layer, insulation board, a base coat with embedded reinforcing mesh, and a surface finish layer.
The assemblies are categorized by Intertek in one of two ways:
Category 1: meets the requirements of Article 3.1.5.5 of the National Building Code of Canada, 2015
Category 2: meets the requirements of Clause 3.2.3.8(1)(b) of the National Building Code of Canada, 2015
Category 2 systems must have a base coat is designated as
noncombustible - a base coat material that meets the requirements of CAN/ULC S114 for noncombustibility.
