NOTE: The American Steel Products 20-180 Minute Vertically Stiffened Steel Sliding Fire Door may be installed without the door frame, such that the sliding door operator would be attached to the wall with through-bolts.
- Attachment of the door assembly to the wall shall be by means of through-wall bolts.
- Doors in detention security applications shall be mounted to a Listed detention sliding door device in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, the manufacturer's individual published Listing, and the applicable Building Code requirements for detention areas. Only Listed devices currently approved for use with the American Steel Products 20-180 Minute Vertically Stiffened Steel Sliding Fire Door may be used.
- For installation in brick, concrete, or concrete masonry wall assemblies. Wall assemblies shall have a fire resistance rating as required by the AHJ, and wall assemblies shall be constructed to safely support the weight of the sliding door and operator assembly without the use of a door frame.
