D&D Technologies SureClose ConcealFit hydraulic concealed-in-the-door Door Closer / Hinge Kit (p/n 77108523) and Hinge Only (p/n 78108513).
A door closer / hinge kit (p/n 77108523) consists of two components:
- one (1) door closer
- one (1) hinge
A proper fire-rated installation has one (1) door closer and two (2) hinges, creating three attachment points between the door and frame.
Limitations:
- Door size limitation is maximum 4'-0" Wide x 7'-0" H.
- A commercial wooden door that is fire-rated per UL 10C or CAN/ULC S104 for 20-Minutes positive pressure with hose stream and contains a minimum 5" (127mm) wide LSL hinge stile is required. Applicable door construction includes:
- 20-Minute with hose stream fire-rated Category 'B' stave-core door, or
- 20-Minute with hose stream fire-rated Category 'B' particleboard core door
- A 16 Ga (1.52mm thick) steel 3-sided hollow metal commercial door frame with hinge reinforcements to accommodate the hinge attachments is required.
- Rigid intumescent strip material shall be applied around the door perimeter (top rail and vertical edges)
- When installing the door closer, BOSS Fireblock 136 single-component fire-rated sealant must be applied into the door mortise prep to completely fill voids between the prep and door closer body.
- When installing the door hinges into the top or middle mortise pockets, BOSS Fireblock 136 sealant must be applied into the door mortise prep to completely fill voids between the prep and door hinge body.
- Door closer may be installed in any position - top, middle, or bottom hinge location.
- The door closer and hinges location must be specified when ordering the door. Field prep of the door for the door closer and hinge pockets is not permitted.
