The Firefly or FF 102/50 Fire Ventilated Fire Barrier Intumescent Seal and FF 102/50+ are ETL Recognized Components that are certified and approved to use in Intertek certfied, NFPA 285-rated, ACM panel systems installed over mineral wool insulation.
FF 102/50 is a rigid high expansion intumescent strip encased in aluminum foil. The FF102/50 strip is mechanically fastened to supporting members (such as girts) using min. 2-in. long screws, in the center of the strip, spaced 8 in. oc (on center). The strip is positioned around the perimeter of the window approximately 6 in. from the center of the strip to the edge of the window opening.
FF 102/50+ is an assembly where an FF 102/50 strip is secured to one face of a block of mineral wool with a thin layer of polythene wrap.
