MetaFlex® Pro Shear MAX 2Hr and 3Hr Horizontal Fire Barrier:
The product is a fire barrier consisting of the following layers (from top to bottom):
- Top Package:
- 0.002” thick stainless steel foil
- Multiple layers of high temperature fiber insulation blanket with a single layer of scrim sandwiched between
- 0.002” thick stainless steel foil
- Bottom Package:
- 0.002” thick stainless steel foil
- Multiple layers of high temperature fiber insulation blanket
- 0.002” thick stainless steel foil
The horizontal fire barrier is also equipped with steel flanges with an intumescent strip for attachment to the substrate and a design feature that allows for shear movement. The side of the joint with the shear movement design feature includes an additional tadpole insulation strip.
