The Worldwide Door Components Standard Kerf Gasket is recognized for use with Listed fire doors and frames that require the use of a Category J gasket. The gasket may be used
with steel or wood door frames with steel, wood or fiberglass faced fire doors. The gaskets are for use on kerfed frames at the door and frame interface.
The gasket may also be used optionally on labeled fire doors and frames without affecting the fire resistance rating.
Doors and frames shall be installed per NFPA 80.
- Category J: Other Gasketing (UL 10C) - i.e. Acoustic Gasket, Weather Seal, etc. [no edge seal or smoke and draft properties].

The gasket material as described in this procedure meets the requirements for a 20 minute positive pressure fire test in accordance with UL 10C, NFPA 252, and CAN/ULC S104. |
