NATURCLAD-W F Panels
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
NATURCLAD-W F panels are decorative high-pressure laminate (HPL) panels for interior and exterior applications. The panels are nominal 1/4 in. thick and have an integrated decorative wood-grain surface in a variety of colors.
INSTALLATION
NATURCLAD-W F panels were fastened to aluminium hat channels and fasteners. The hat channels had an approximate depth of 1in. Fasteners used were SX3/15-D12-5,5X30-COLOR-04 self-tapping screws manufactured by SFS intec. Fasteners spacing consisted of fasteners spaced 24 in. on center for the perimeter and the field, with an inset of 1 in. from the panel edges on the perimeter. Panels for the wall application were fastened in a vertical orientation, with the run edge running parallel to the hat channel installed on the walls. The panels of the ceiling application were installed perpendicular to the hat channels installed on the ceiling. Two panels of approximate dimensions of 4 ft. x 4 ft. were installed on the ceiling application closest to the doorway utilizing the same fastening method as stated previous. The aluminium extruded hat channels were fastened to the steel studs using 1/4 in. x 14 x 2 in., with an approximate fastening method of 24 in. on center. Hex Washer Head self-drilling fasteners. Hat channels were installed onto the steel studs of the walls and ceiling parallel to the orientation of the steel stud framing.
The test room walls, and ceiling were constructed with 18-gauge galvanized steel, 3-5/8 in. wide structural studs spaced every 16 inches. The studs were fastened to 18 gauge, 3-5/8 in. wide galvanized steel track with #6 x 1/2 in. long self-drilling fasteners in each flange. The orientation of the ceiling framing was with the ceiling framing studs running across the 8 ft. dimensions of the test room.
The full interior surface of the wall assemblies were clad with 5/8 in. thick National Gypsum Gold Bond Fire-Shield gypsum board meeting ASTM C 1396. The gypsum board was fastened to the wall framing with #6 x 1-1/4 in. long, bugle head, self-drilling screws with a nominal spacing of 8 in. around the board perimeter and 12.in in the field. Drywall orientation was with the run edge running parallel with the framing and the cut edge perpendicular to the framing. All joints were taped with USG Sheetrock Brand paper joint tape and spackled with USG Sheetrock Brand joint compound. All fastener heads were spackled with USG Sheetrock Brand joint compound.
